visual display system
Outside visuals are displayed using the Matrox Triple Head 2 Go as this is the only way to go for ultra-realism. What is also surprising is that framerates suffer very little. This beast does all the work outside of your CPU, which is great news no matter how powerful your system is. If you're undecided about purchasing one or not, wonder no more. And imagine eventually getting 3 projectors linked to it???? I purchased mine from FS Pilotshop as it is the cheapest around even taking into account shipping to Australia.
For the outside view experience, I've decided on LCD screens as they will offer good performance in all light conditions. Projectors offer more immersion, however they need very low level (dark) light for the greatest effect. I would prefer to have the option of flying without having to draw the curtains and shut doors!
3 x 22" LG W2242T LCD screens do the job.
Here we are in the PC12 at Jandakot airport.
Here are some other builders using the TH2GO:
Baron B58 // Hans Krohn // Nic D
This is the little beastie that does it all. Plug your video card output into its input and plug three monitors to the corresponding Left-Centre-Right outputs and away you go!!
(In fact apparently you can connect TWO units to your dual output video card for a total of SIX screens!!.....OMG!)
